Mineral Pools at SPA Hotel Elbrus, Velingrad
Mineral Pools at SPA Hotel Elbrus
One guest comes to swim. Another is looking for warmer water and a few peaceful minutes. A third prefers the saltwater pool, while someone else enjoys a short rest in the water after a sauna or steam room.
That is why SPA Hotel Elbrus has four different pool areas. They differ in size, temperature and purpose, allowing you to choose the one that best suits the way you would like to spend your time.
The mineral water in the complex comes from local sources and its temperature is adjusted to suit each pool. Detailed information about its origin and composition is published on the Mineral Water from Borehole No. 2 “Velyova Banya”.
25-metre swimming pool
This is the best area for guests who want to swim rather than simply relax in warm water. The pool is heated and operates all year round. In winter it is protected by a glazed enclosure, while in summer it opens onto the outdoor space.
| Feature | Information |
|---|---|
| Length | 25 metres |
| Depth | approximately 1.10 to 1.90 m |
| Temperature | around 30–33°C |
| Operation | year-round; enclosed in winter and open-air in summer |
| Suitable for | swimming and more active movement in the water |
Children may use the pool only with a parent or another accompanying adult. The deeper section is not suitable for people who are not confident swimmers.
Warm 15-metre pool with water attractions
This area is designed for a slower pace of relaxation. The water is warmer, and the different water features allow you to alternate gentle movement with rest.
| Feature | Information |
|---|---|
| Length | around 15 metres |
| Depth | approximately 0.60 to 1.30 m |
| Temperature | around 38°C |
| Facilities | a Jacuzzi area, waterfalls and water attractions |
| Operation | year-round, with a roof structure and glazed sides |
The varying depth allows you to choose a shallower or deeper section. A parent must be present at all times when children use the pool.
Outdoor saltwater pool
The saltwater pool is entirely outdoors but protected by a roof. The water is warmer, and the area is popular with guests who want to stay in one place and relax.
| Feature | Information |
|---|---|
| Length | around 10 metres |
| Depth | around 1.30 m |
| Temperature | around 40°C |
| Water | saltwater |
| Purification | by electrolysis, without added chlorine |
| Operation | outdoor pool with a roof |
Because of the high temperature, prolonged uninterrupted stays in the water are not recommended. Consult a doctor if you have a cardiovascular condition, are pregnant or have another health condition.
Small indoor pool in the spa centre
The small pool is next to the sauna and steam room. It is part of the peaceful rhythm of the spa area and is used for a short dip before or after a heat treatment.
| Feature | Information |
|---|---|
| Location | in the spa centre, next to the sauna and steam room |
| Depth | around 0.70 m |
| Suitable for | brief relaxation before or after a heat treatment |
This area is not intended for swimming or active games.
Access to the pool areas
The hotel pool areas are available to guests under the hotel’s current operating arrangements. An individual facility may temporarily close for maintenance, technical inspection or another operational reason. Reception can provide current information.
Children are admitted to the pools with a parent or accompanying adult. The parent is responsible for choosing an area with an appropriate depth and temperature and remaining with the child at all times.
